Practice Goose (Geese?)

In May 2024, an anonymous donor helped us out with two “practice goose” setups from The Piper’s Hut. These went to students who were then 8 and 9 and not yet ready to handle a full set of pipes. These are to bridge the gap and allow them to not only learn to play with the bag under their arm but also gain some experience with the blowing and squeezing skills needed to eventually play regular pipes. As of August 2026, these have been transitioned to two new 12 year old students.

The two sets below were assembled in the summer of 2026 from parts donated by band members along with older chanters which play at a lower pitch than modern chanters so are not useful to the band but are another good stepping stone on the way to a full set of pipes. At this time they are with the students who had the above, practice chanter based setups.
