Set #7 Unknown Maker
We call this the Stuart Set because it was anonymously donated to the band by the Stuart family in September 2026. The pipes were purchased sometime around 2008 and are in good condition but we can not find a maker mark or receipt so unless we can authenticate them, they’ll just be the Stuart Set.
The pipes had not been played in a while so most of the ferrules needed to be re-glued and the hemping needed some touch ups but the green Canmore bag was still air tight and the Shepherd SM-90 drone reeds still work perfectly!
A great bonus was the included and sought after Shepherd MK3 chanter which is currently the Highlander standard. A new reed in there, some fresh tape, and a spare chanter cap and it was ready to go again. We’re also grateful for the nice included roller case!
Our band manager, Dan, put the usual care package together for the set, including things like some hemp, drone and stock corks, some spare reeds, a razor blade, a polishing cloth, moisture trap, and zip ties.
On October 1, 2026, the pipes made it into the hands of student Kianna Becker to continue their journey.
