John “Jack” Taylor

Jack Taylor was born on August 12 1925 and passed away on January 12, 2023. Jack lead an interesting life; he enlisted in the Marine Corps in October 1941 at the age of 16 and served for 4 years as a radio operator while stationed in Peleliu. Jack worked for the Illinois Bell Telephone Company for 36 years, received his private pilot’s license in 1967 and flew his aircraft for 44 years. Jack also built model aircraft and enjoyed the annual EAA show in Oshkosh, WI. Prior to joining the Chicago Highlanders, Jack was a member of the Ft. Dearborn Highlanders as a snare drummer.
